So here is the detailed way how to make windows xp look like windows 7 WITHOUT destroying your precious computer:
1) Go to http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/ or go to google.com and search tuneup utilities. Then download the trial 2009 version of 30 days or you can buy it if you have the money.
2)In tuneup utilities there is a option to change the theme of your computer. It is called tuneup styler. Then go to visual styles. In there you should see an add button, click it and you should see the install visual style from file. Now the process of changing your windows xp look like 7 is almost finished without ruining your computer. (I tested this out on two computers, and they are looking good and working fine without viruses) (Tuneup Styler can prevent a theme from messing up your computer since you can delete it very easily)
3)Now go to http://vishal-gupta.deviantart.com/art/SevenVG-Refresh-with-Superbar-106952053 or simply find it from google.com. It’s called SevenVg Refresh (no space between seven and vg, I did not create this)
4)Now go download this theme (I tested and no virus) to where you can find it. Do not extract now. You can download WinRar from download.com to extract if you do not have extraction software.
5)Go to the folder where you downloaded the theme. Now extract it to the same folder for easy finding.
6)In TuneUp Styler click install visual style from file and find the theme you have download. Only the theme and not the font of styler thing. You ONLY need the theme and not the other stuff. After you have installed it in TuneUp styler you can now use the windows 7 theme by clicking apply.
7)There are four themes in the package. I use the SevenVg2 bottom 32. The other ones make my computer font weird.
Now you’re done! Great job!
